Luxe Trend Boutique launched in 2024 as an online-only retailer specialising in formal and evening wear. We do not operate a physical store. Every garment we carry is sourced, reviewed, and listed by a small editorial team working entirely remotely.
This page explains what the business is, how it was built, who runs it, and what it is trying to do. There are no vague origin myths here — just the facts about how this operation works and why it exists.
Why We Built This
The formal wear market has a well-documented structural problem: the majority of affordable gowns and evening dresses available online are sold through channels with no meaningful quality accountability. Listings are generated in bulk, product photography is inconsistent, and sizing documentation is frequently incomplete or inaccurate. A customer buying a formal dress online for an event three weeks away is taking a significant gamble.
Luxe Trend Boutique was built specifically to address that gap. Founder Alexandra Moir identified in 2023 that while wholesale and manufacturer-direct formal wear from established production regions — particularly Guangzhou and Zhejiang province in China — is frequently of strong construction quality, the retail layer between those manufacturers and end customers consistently strips out the quality information that would allow buyers to make confident decisions.
The business model we chose — curating a limited catalog, applying supplier selection criteria before listing, and providing detailed product documentation — was designed to function as that missing retail layer. We are not a manufacturer. We are a curator and reseller that takes the quality evaluation step seriously before a product reaches our site.
“We curate formal and evening wear of genuine construction quality, delivering garments that earn their place in your wardrobe through permanence, not seasonal cycles.”
What We Curate
Our catalog focuses on formal gowns, evening dresses, and structured occasion wear. We do not list casualwear, fast-fashion style items, or garments we cannot adequately document in terms of fabric composition and construction method.
Every product in our catalog has been reviewed against a supplier selection process before listing. That process includes sample inspection, documentation review, and supplier qualification criteria — all described in detail on our Craftsmanship page. We keep the catalog deliberately limited: we list fewer styles rather than listing everything available from our supplier network.
Products are sourced from verified manufacturer partners and ship direct from supplier to customer. We do not hold inventory. Lead times and shipping details are listed on each product page.
How We Work
The business operates with a small team of three. Supplier relationships, product evaluation, and catalog decisions are handled internally. We do not outsource curation to algorithm-driven selection or bulk listing tools.
Customer enquiries are handled directly by our Customer Experience team, with a target response window of one business day. We review our active supplier relationships quarterly against defect rate data and customer feedback. Suppliers who do not meet our documented standards are removed from the catalog regardless of coverage implications.
