Sustainability

We are an online fashion retailer. We are not a manufacturer. This page documents what we can verify about our operations and supply chain, what we cannot verify, and what we are working toward. Every claim on this page is either verifiable or explicitly identified as a goal or aspiration. Nothing on this page is presented as certified unless a certification is held.

Certifications

Certifications we do not currently hold:

Luxe Trend Boutique does not currently hold the following certifications: B Corp, GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), Bluesign, Fair Trade, ISO 14001, or OEKO-TEX.

The reason is direct: certifications like GOTS, Bluesign, and OEKO-TEX require fiber-level, processing-level, and manufacturing-level documentation from our supplier base. That documentation is not yet fully available across our supplier network. B Corp certification requires organisational-level assessment across financials, supply chain governance, and environmental impact — an assessment we have not completed. We will not claim these certifications until they are held.

Any certification listed here will include the issuing body, certification number, and renewal date.

What We Can Verify

The following four practices are specific to how our business currently operates. Each is verifiable from our business model documentation.

Verified

a. No physical retail footprint.
All operations are digital. We do not operate a physical store, warehouse, or showroom. No energy consumption attributable to retail lighting, heating, or physical display infrastructure. No physical inventory waste from in-store display or unsold floor stock.

Verified

b. Drop-ship fulfilment model.
We do not warehouse inventory. Products ship direct from supplier to customer when an order is placed. This eliminates the warehousing leg and the second domestic shipment leg that would occur in a standard stock-holding retail model.

Verified

c. Curated and limited catalog.
We maintain a limited product catalog reviewed quarterly rather than listing every available style from our supplier network. A smaller catalog means more thorough evaluation per product and less promotion of low-quality items likely to generate returns, waste, or short garment lifespans.

Verified

d. Extended garment life guidance.
Every product page includes fabric-specific care instructions designed to extend the working lifespan of the garment. We publish guides on investment dressing and cost-per-wear reasoning in our editorial content. Longer garment lifespan directly reduces replacement frequency and associated production cycles.

Supply Chain Transparency

We source formal and evening wear from wholesale and affiliate suppliers primarily based in Guangzhou and broader Zhejiang province, China. We do not control manufacturing processes directly. We are a retailer and curator operating downstream of the manufacturing stage.

We require written quality documentation from suppliers as a condition of listing, including quality control process records, defect resolution policies, and product specification sheets. This documentation is held on file.

What we cannot currently verify: We cannot independently verify labour conditions at supplier facilities beyond the documentation they provide. We cannot independently verify environmental compliance at the manufacturing level beyond what is stated in supplier documentation. We are not in a position to audit supplier factories directly at this stage of the business.

We buy from manufacturers in China. We require written quality documentation. We cannot currently independently verify labour or environmental compliance beyond that documentation. That is the accurate description of our supply chain position.

Carbon Offset

Goal — not current

We do not currently operate a formal carbon offset program. We are researching third-party verified offset providers — specifically Gold Standard and Verra/VCS, both of which require project-level verification rather than self-reporting. Our target date for enrollment is Q4 2026. We will publish program details, the specific projects funded, and per-order offset calculation methodology at that time.

Packaging

Products ship in supplier-standard packaging. We do not currently use proprietary branded packaging. We encourage customers to reuse or recycle shipping materials where local recycling facilities permit. We do not have complete data on the specific packaging materials used by each supplier — this is an area we intend to document as part of our supplier transparency work.

Aspirational Commitments

The following are goals we are actively working toward. They are not current claims.

  • Target: Q1 2027 — Obtain written labour compliance documentation from all active suppliers, including working hours policy, wage structure documentation, and facility-level compliance records. We will publish a summary once collected.
  • Target: Q4 2026 — Enrol in a third-party verified carbon offset program (Gold Standard or Verra/VCS). Program details, project selection rationale, and per-order offset methodology to be published at point of enrolment.
  • Target: Q2 2027 — Obtain fiber certification data (OEKO-TEX Standard 100 or equivalent) for the top 20% of our catalog by sales volume. We will update this page with progress annually.

This page was last reviewed: May 2026. It will be updated at minimum annually, or sooner if material changes to our certifications, supply chain documentation, or offset program status occur.
